White cotton fabric is suitable for
making batik. After first applied to candles, it will be dipped slightly darker
in color. After that, it will be applied for the second time and then dyed with
a darker color. This process will continue until exhausted. This fabric will be
boiled in water containing soda. When boiled, the different colors will appear.
Batik cloth is then dried until dry. Batik fabrics that are dry, will be
scrubbed, folded and packaged to be sold.
Batik Fabric Type
Batik is divided into three types.
Batik Block
White cloth will be applied with
batik patterns using pattern blocks. Block pattern made of wood or metal. This
process is done over and over with a certain order until complete. Where the
block was first dipped into the dye before was placed on top of the cloth.
Batik Scratch
Canting tool used for plotting with
hot wax batik patterns on white cloth. After sketching the work completed, as
appropriate pattern coloring process is done by using a paint brush, which
affected parts of the candle will not leave color effect when the colors do
turn off. Wax will melt and removable parts make this white as a fortress.
Batik Screen
Batik this screen is great when
compared with batik blocks and smearing. Only the method of drawing and how to
apply a color pattern is different. Batik pattern formed on the screen is made
of polyester fabric. The screen is mounted on a white cloth, dyeing process by
passing on the color patterns earlier. This way will be repeated several times
with different patterns to get a complete batik patterns. This is due to a
screen to one color only.
